Brown snake print wide leg trousers. Pale pink 'Candice' batwing cardigan. Light pink zipped shoulder long sleeve jumper.
This fabric is beautiful. My favorite for christening gowns. These range from checks to pastel plaids. The work up beautifully for dresses, or baby gowns. The red and black check look great with primary color appliqués for summer sundresses.
This fabric is fine enough for shadow work embroidery. It is great for collars and has a very fine wale. Red, Royal Blue, White, mint green, lavender yellow, pink, blue, lime, and hot pink. Birdseye Swiss pima pique: Spechler-Vogel Pima Cotton Tartans: This would be perfect for a baby gown, lightweight receiving blanket or a child's or ladies night gown. This fabric pleats like butter with large pleats that look great with geometric or picture smocking.
Pink, blue or White,. This is a high quality flannel that works great for baby blankets, nightgowns, or daygowns. Silk dupioni has become a favorite for special occasion dresses. This silk pleats and smocks great. Colors are bottle green, red, pink, cream, white, peach or black. This silk is lighter weight than dupioni. It has a beautiful sheen and also has the characteristic slubs of dupioni.
It would make a beautiful christening gown. It also works well for a layered effect on special occasion dresses. This linen from Robert Kaufman is lightweight and hangs beautifully. This fabric is perfect for drawn thread work or a special linen collar or dress. This fabric is great for holiday dresses.

CommentAuthor nanny north CommentTime Aug 22nd, 8: Here are the jumper patterns that Neil asked me for.
The first one is the Little Hen pattern. The second one is the one I adapted from it making it easier to follow and giving an alternative neck that doesn't need crochet around it. If you could make some for the Little Hen people, it would be much appreciated as the bald hens get sent to their new owners wearing one during the cold weather so as you can imagine they do get through loads of them.
It doesn't matter what colour yarn you use and they can even be stripey to use up oddments as well. The important thing is to keep the hens warm.
If you have any difficulties with the patterns please don't hesitate to ask me and I will help you if I can. Goldie Corn was a real good girl and offered to model one for us all with Sootz and Sylvi supervising. Don't forget that they would be worn by bald hens rather that a fully plumed bird. Bless her, I can't quite tell if she likes being in her jumper or not?
They are great, and too have done 3 already is great. CommentAuthor nanny north CommentTime Aug 22nd, 9: She was real calm about it so they must be comfy.
I will e-mail you the second pattern for your Mum. Sootz and Sylvi are sitting there like fashion critics CommentAuthor nanny north CommentTime Aug 22nd, Ha ha it is some wool I had left over from a jacket I made for Aurelia so it is def last season ha ha.
Yes go on dig your needles out they are real easy to make and don't take long to do, plus you will be helping a poor little abused hen.
Plus if you get stuck I am here to try and help you. NN, those are great little jumpers.. CommentAuthor nanny north CommentTime Aug 23rd, 6: Thank you Lynn I took her back out to the others with a portion of grated cheese so they were all well pleased with her and her wages Ha ha.
Well, she was a very good lookin' bird!! She'll be tapping on your door tomorrow with a sign saying "will model for food"! Maybe I will do some - now that we have a staff room at work I can always do some in my lunch break to keep me busy. It was lovely to see the picture so that I know what the finished article should look like! CommentAuthor nanny north CommentTime Aug 23rd, 9: No she is very down to earth CC and is happy for any tasty morsel to come her way.
She is my little girl who likes to ride in the wheel barrow!! It will be good if you can do some Kate every one helps. I had to make the first one not knowing what it would be like so thought a picture would be helpful.
Doing them at lunch time is a good idea, you never know you might be able to rope someone in to make some as well. Well I haven't had such a laugh for quite some time!
My next door must think I have gone quite bananas - at last! That Chook all dressed up - fantastic. I intend to set G'daughter knitting but not telling her what it is!!! And Kate's workmates will think that she has a strange-shaped grandchild I wish I could knit, but I never was able to master it. My best friend's Mom spent years trying to teach me.. I just couldn't get the hang of it.
CommentAuthor nanny north CommentTime Aug 24th, 9: I know it looks funny on a fully feathered hen, and I dont mind you having a laugh, but when you see it on a battery hen it gives you a much different perspective about it. This is the design made from fleece, with adjustable Velcro straps.. They are 4 inches across the middle with a hole for their heads to come through. The holes itself is 2 inches across. The large ends are 7 inches The length from one end to the other is 17 inches long.
These do not have to be perfect, the girls really don't mind as long as they are warm for their first few weeks out of the farm.. I hope this is of some use Lynn, if you do manage to make a couple can you post a photo of them for me.
I have loads of oddments of wool that I can use up so dont want to have to go out and buy fleece until I have used most of the wool. Thank you for the pattern, NN.
